KSO's CD of Everyman on Dutton Digital
 |
In 2004, KSO undertook the first ever full recording of Henry Walford Davies's 1904 oratoria Everyman.
The orchestral parts for this score had been lost for many years, but were rediscovered by the London Oriana Choir's
conductor, David Drummond, who directed the choir with KSO in this recording on the Dutton Digital label. The
recording was subsequently chosen by Gramophone magazine as one of its recordings of the month. You can order
this recording from Amazon.co.uk.

Broadcasts
Also in 2004, KSO joined the BBC Concert Orchestra on stage for the world première of Errollyn Wallen's
Spirit Symphony - Speed Dating for Two Orchestras. This performance, in the closing concert of BBC Radio 3's
Listen Up! festival of the orchestra, was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, and followed a recorded broadcast
with the same orchestra two years previously. Spirit Symphony was subsequently awarded the Radio 3 Listeners'
Award at the 2005 British Composer Awards.
